Sean Turner secures new fight date following Belfast disappointment

Sean Turner [9(6)-0] has been given a chance to quickly get over the disappointment he felt last weekend.

The Dublin heavyweight, on the morning of the fight, was forced out of his clash with Kamil Sokolowski in Belfast on Friday (March 3rd) due to administrative problems.

‘Big Sexy’ was despondent afterwards, having undergone a tough seven week camp with trainer Stephen Kavanagh and having got himself into the best fighting shape of his career for the bout on the Ginley Promotions ‘Dust Up at the Devenish’ card.

Thankfully, the 25 year old will still be able to put this toil to good use as it has this morning been confirmed that the popular big man will feature on the BoxNation card this Friday (March 10th) at the Waterfront Hall in Belfast.

MTK, who manage Turner, described how the Dubliner “is ready to put on a performance at the Belfast Waterfront as he sets his sights on some big names in the division. An emphatic performance will enhance his growing reputation.”

An opponent and number of rounds will be confirmed for Turner shortly.

The card at the weekend will be headlined by Commonwealth super flyweight champion Jamie Conlan against former world title challenger Yader Cardoza, and will also feature an Irish super featherweight title clash between Deco Geraghty and James Tennyson, and a BUI Celtic light welterweight fight between Tyrone McKenna and Jake Hanney. Other names on the card include Paddy Barnes, Marco McCullough, Lewis Crocker, Phil Sutcliffe, Con Sheehan, Steven Ward, and Joe Fitzpatrick, as well as English fighters Troy Williamson and Kevin Satchell.

Tickets are available through the Waterfront Hall (CLICK HERE) or through the boxers themselves (which is the avenue we would recommend).
