Sean Magee scores quickfire KO in delayed debut

Sean Magee’s debut in April fell through, and the Belfast man didn’t hang around when he finally stepped into the ring tonight in Belfast.

The North Belfast boxer appeared on the undercard of the Burnett-Haskins ‘Belfast Boy’ bill at the SSE Odyssey Arena and needed just 53 seconds to stop his first pro foe.

Magee took on tough English journeyman Jules Phillips and completely overwhelmed him within a minute.

Attacking from the opening bell, Phillips hit the canvas quickly, and heavily, and the bout was waved off.

The quickfire result sees Magee’s new pro record start off at 1(1)-0, while Phillips falls to 1(0)-8(2).

Next up, most likely, for Magee will be an appearance on the next Kieran Farrell Promotions show in Belfast, expected to take place this Autumn.
