Room for Improvement says Wilton after win number 9
MATTHEW Wilton recorded another straight forward points win in Belfast last week, but was keen to point there is still room for improvements.
The Belfast welterweight maintained his unbeaten start to paid fighting and moved to within one victory of double figures with a one sided points win in the Holiday.
However, speaking after his 60-54 victory over Lewie O’Mara and what ring side reporters claimed was a commanding performance, Wilton wasn’t full of self praise.
“I took a couple of rounds to get to grips with him and I then started catching him with the right hand,” said Wilton. He is a southpaw and he was tricky but I got the job done. I also picked up a cut and that is the third time I have been cut,” he told the Belfast Newsletter.
“I was pleased with the performance but there is always room for improvement.”
