Rigondeaux gives Frampton-Santa Cruz prediction

While he badly craves a fight with Carl Frampton and has called out the Belfast man countless times, Guillermo Rigondeaux admits that his fellow jackal is an excellent boxer.

Frampton takes on Leo Santa Cruz at the end of the month for the WBA featherweight title in New York, in a fight that even the Cuban maestro feels is a good match-up.

The brash Caribbean stylist is not one to hand out praise lightly, but does conceded to IFL TV that Frampton and his July 30th opponent “are two excellent boxers”

When pushed for a prediction on the Barclays Centre-hosted clash, Rigo sat firmly on the fence and believes that “any of the two could win, they’re both great fighters.”

“Whoever has the best training camp is probably going to go away with the win.”

While he believes that the clash in the Big Apple is an intriguing prospect, the much-avoided double Olympic gold medalist believes that a showdown with him would be all the more fascinating, explaining that “it’s a good interesting fight, but if they were to fight me it would be a lot more interesting.
