RESULTS: The Liffey Crane Hire Irish Boxer of the Month – WINTER SPECIAL


It was a bumper edition of the Liffey Crane Hire Irish Boxer of the Month with December and January being put together for a Winter Special.

A nice mix of top pro success and amazing amateur action led to a quality field and a huge number of votes.

One of the closest competitions to date, we eventually have a winner and, without further ado, the award goes to…

The Dublin light welter claimed the Irish U22 title and was most peoples’ unofficial boxer of the championships.

The Docklands destroyer claimed three big wins over three weekends at the National Stadium over strong opposition and has really gotten figures within Irish boxing excited.

The big-punching 18-year-old defeated Shane Flavin, Michael Avetisian, and Matthew McCole in an impressive run to the title – his ninth Irish underage crown – putting on brilliant performances and starting 2019 strongly following a nightmare 2018 beset by injury.

Coming in joint second were JP Hale and Colm Murphy. The Belfast featherweights split two epic fights in the space of six days, Hale taking the Ulster Senior title while Murphy won the Irish U22 crown.

Katie Taylor took third spot following her successful world totledefence against Eva Wahlstom in New York.
