Rescheduled date for Fury-Klitschko II confirmed
If their rematch is to occur, Tyson Fury and Wladimir Klitschko will renew hostilities at the Manchester Arena on Saturday October 29th.
The pair were due to meet this weekend at the same venue, but the bout was postponed due to a severely sprained ankle sustained by champion Fury.
Since the injury, Fury has been subject to doping allegation, a claim he has vehemently denied.
Speaking to German paper SportsBild last week, Klitschko’s manager Bernd Boente explained that “We believe that the rematch takes place, namely on October 29th in the Manchester Arena. The rest is not in our hands.”
Fury’s trainer and uncle, Peter, last night confirmed that rescheduled date is indeed October 29th and that fans can book their hotels and flights with confidence (well, whatever confidence you can associate with a Fury-Klitschko fight).
Last November Fury shocked the boxing World with a comprehensive win over the long-reigning Ukrainian to claim the unified lineal heavyweight crown at the ESPRIT Arena in Duesseldorf.
