Regan Buckley to take on Area champion in February

Regan Buckley [2(0)-0] will continue his rapid rise through the ranks in February.

The Bray flyweight has had a third fight date confirmed after what was an impressive debut year.

Following a dominant win over Gary Reeve in his debut, Buckley stepped up in weight to defeat Tallaght’s Carl McDonald, and will now go overseas to face an Area champion.

It has been announced that Buckley will take on reigning BBBoC Central Area champion Craig Derbyshire [5(1)-24(3)-3] over six rounds in Bury on Friday February 16th. The fight will take place on the Kieran Farrell Promotions ‘Little Big Men’ bill at the Village Hotel.

Doncaster’s Derbyshire won the belt during the Summer against Anthony Smith and will defend it in March against Tommy Frank. Primarily a journeyman, the 26 year old has pulled off a number of shocks during his career.

Also featuring on the bill will be Belfast super featherweight Mathew Fitzsimons, alongside match-ups of George Brennan v Brett Fidoe, Taha Mirhosseini v Darryl Sharp, and headliner Lee Clayton v Tommy Chadburn.
