Scores will be settled this Saturday when Michael Sweeney and Ian Tims rematch over eight rounds for the Celtic Nations Title at the National Stadium

The bout is one of the main support acts to headliner Jamie Conlan on the Second Coming MGM show that will be screened live on Boxnation.

The pair first fought in 2011 for the Irish cruiserweight title, with Tims emerging victor on points (97-95) after a close contest. MGM’s Sweeney has since said that his preparations for the bout were far from perfect, and is looking to give a better account of himself at the weekend

Initially a rematch was due to happen on the Sky Sports show at the 3Arena last November but Sweeney was forced to withdraw late with a punctured lung.

Now the pair will finally renew hostilities and trash-talk and bad blood aplenty can be expected.
