Phelan good- Kildare featherweight registers fifth consecutive win
ALLAN Phelan is fast becoming the Irish boxing king of Queens.
The Kildare native registered his fourth consecutive win in the New York boro and his fifth win on the bounce last Saturday night to push his record to 5-2.
The 22 year old has turned things round since losing his first two fights and has now dispatched five fellow pro novices since February of last year.
Unlike his previous four foes Phelan couldn’t nail Jesus Gonzales to the canvas in the Resort World Casino, Queens New York, but registered his first scorecard victory.
The Irish fighters first six rounder finished 58-55, 58-55 and 57-56 in his favour.
