Phelan continues winning streak

ALLAN Phelan continued his boxing revival with sixth successive victory in New York on Wednesday night.

The Kildare featherweight, who is unbeaten since losing his opening two bouts, registered a points win over Salvador Perez in the Five Star banquet in Long Island.

The 22 year old had to fight through the pain barrier, having hurt his hand in the second round, but still delighted a sizeable crowd, banked six rounds and registered another win.
