UFC star ready to turn to pro boxing
UFC welterweight Cathal Pendred is ready to trade the octagon for the squared circle and become a pro boxer.
The 21-3-1 mixed martial arts competitor doesn’t envisage a long noble art career, but believes a stint as paid pugilist would help him improve his stand up game.
Pendred is most likely taking note of how a boxing background has helped Conor McGregor in the UFC and as a result is planning a stint in boxing.
Speaking on Twitter Pendred revealed:
I think I’m going to take a 6 month break from fighting in the UFC to pursue a pro boxing fight and just focus my time on my standup game.

That’s the plan. But 1st #UFCDublin on Oct 24th I wouldn’t miss fighting in my hometown in front of the best fans in the world for anything!
