One of Frank Warren’s Irish stable Stephen Ormond has expressed his delight at the launch TV station  Box Nation-a channel dedicated soley to the fight game.

The Hall of Fame Promoter and Boxing Channel Media  have set up a venture they are billing as “a new groundbreaking and innovative sports TV channel”.

Warren via the new station is promising  two live championship promotions from the UK and around the world each week.

There will also be daily fight news aswell as extensive classic fight coverage and The Clondalkin fighter is excited about the new initiative.

All Warren’s fighters have been pulled from SKY Sports and some questions have been raised as to whether this will hinder or enhance the careers of experienced promoters fight stable.

Some have queried what initially seems like a reasonable £10.00 subscription fee, whilst others have been left wondering what will happen when a rival promoted and Sky backed fighter is set to fight one of Warren’s crew.

However the fighter Bernard Dunne backed to succeed him as Irish boxing’s brightest star takes a pure positive view.

Ormond, who like Dunne, Ian Tims and Tony Bates emerged from the St Matthews Gym, believes having his promoter aligned with a dedicated station will increase his chances of air time and subsequently boost his profile.

“I was in London at the launch and I really think BoxNation TV is a great idea,“ Ormond told www.irish-boxing.com. “Its means all Frank Warren fighter’s will get a chance of TV. I think BoxNation tv can only be good for Warren fighters,” the fighter who was due out on BDR Promotions postponed October 22 show, but hopes to be on a UK November card concluded.
