Top Pro Gif Ad
Ray Moylette’s quest to qualify for the Rio Olympic Games ended tonight in Venezuela.

Moylette lost his opening bout in the WSB/APB qualifier in Vargas to Hovannes Bachkov of Armenia.

The Mayo man dropped a close first round and would go on to be outlanded by the Eastern European in the second and third en-route to a unanimous decision (27-30 x3) loss.

The defeat sees Ireland’s final tally of Olympic boxers stay at eight; Paddy Barnes, Brendan Irvine, Mick Conlan, David Oliver Joyce, Katie Taylor, Steven Donnelly, Michael O’Reilly, and Joe Ward.
