O’Kane keeps alive World title dream with impressive win in Swindon
EAMONN O’Kane kept alive his World title dream with an impressive victory in Swindon on Friday.
There was no Friday 13th scare for the Derry man as he stopped experienced Hungarian Ferenc Hafner in the fourth round of their middleweight title fight.
The victory, O’Kane’s first under new coach Paddy Fitzpatrick, ensures he remains in the IBF top 10 and eligible to challenge for the IBF World title.
With Felix Sturm and Billy Joe Saunders both turning down the chance to fight Hassan N’Dam for the IBF strap the number eight ranked fighter there is a scenario that could see O’Kane challenge the Gary Hyde managed fighter next.
