O’Kane has World title shot in his sights
A VICTORY for Eamonn O’Kane in his home town on May 2 will pave the way for a World title shot.
‘King Kane’ challenges a yet to be confirmed opponent in what is being billed as a World title eliminator at Erin’s Own GAA club and Termoneeny Community Association’s Lavey Termoneeny Centre.
Speaking to the Belfast Newsletter O’Kane expressed at the route his career seems to be taking.
“If I win on May 2 I will be right in the mix for the IBF title,” he said.
“I could even be made the mandatory challenger. These are exciting times and there is everything to fight for. It is every boxers dream to fight for a World title and I am no different.
“It is up to me to win on May 2 and then see what happens. I worked hard for a very long time and now I am getting close to a World title shot. Things are good.”
