O’Kane has Jermaine Taylors title in his sights
EAMONN O’Kane wants to take advantage of Jermaine Taylor’s misfortune and secure a World title shot in 2015.
Taylor has found himself in trouble with the law again and his title could become vacant over the coming months and the Derry middleweight, who is highly ranked with IBF is hoping to secure a shot at the strap this year.
And with a potential title tilt on the horizon ‘King Kane’ know victory in Swindon on February 13 is a must.
“IBF Champion Jermain Taylor is in trouble with the police, so his belt could be up for grabs. I am highly ranked by the IBF – so I would love a shot at that title.It is every fighters dream to fight for and win a World title and I am no different,” O’Kane told the Belfast Newsletter.
“I just know I have to win o February 13 to keep myself high on the IBF rankings,” he added.
O’Kane has teamed up with George Groves Irish trainer Paddy Fitzpatrick and claims the recent link up has benefited him.
“We have a plan and everything we do is thought out before and you will see a different Eamonn O’Kane in this fight. I have neglected my jab for too long and I will be more thoughtful about my work,” he added.
