Not the Aviva but not that far away date and venue set for Fury Klitschko

Tyson Fury will put his heavyweight titles on the line against Wladamir Klitschko in Manchester on July 9.

The former Irish heavyweight champion ended the ‘Dr Steal Hammers’ long reign as title holder when defeated 40-year-old Ukrainian Klitschko on points in Dusseldorf last November to secure the WBA, IBF and WBO titles.

There has been rematch talk since and the former champ was always adamant he would evoke a repeat clause, but the date and venue of any return have been a thing of speculation.

Indeed, the Aviva Stadium was explored by Team Fury with UAE, Germany and a Cruise ship all muted as possible venues.

However, Fury’s uncle and trainer Peter Fury took to twitter today to confirm the clash will take place in Manchester on July 9.
