No ‘gimme fight’ for Cummings on massive American bill

Conrad Cummings [6(2)-0] will take a step up in class when he fights on the undercard of Carl Frampton’s IBF super bantamweight world title defence this Saturday in Texas.

It has been announced that the Tyrone middleweight will face Mexico’s Oscar Riojas [8(3)-1(0)] at the Don Haskins Centre in El Paso.

Texas-based Riojas began his career at light heavyweight before moving down to super middleweight where he won the WBC Mexican title. The 31 year old will certainly be the toughest fight of the Coalisland man’s career so far.

Cummings has been matched well in his short professional career, and this opponent further shows that Cyclone Promotions are not planning on wasting their time with meaningless fights for the 24 year old.
