‘No big deal-I did as promised’- Gerathy reacts to KO win

A fighter know for panache produced a power punch that had a tough if journey man foe rolling around in pain in round one.
Granted it’s not title level opposition, but it seemed statement win of sorts on a number of levels for Declan Geraghty. Not only did ‘Pretty Boy’ answer those who questioned if he had strength to go with his style, but he dealt with an awkward and notoriously dirty fighter with relative ease and delivered on his KO promise.
However, the former two weight National Irish Senior Champion wasn’t too excited about the win post bout. Geraghty (11-1) seems to see it as a routine win and will leave it to others to get excited about .
“There is nothing really for me to take from the fight. I know Jamie (Kavanagh) went a few rounds with him a Patrick Hyland didn’t stop him, but I said before the fight l would get him out in the four rounds and that’s what l did,” Geraghty told Irish-boxing.com.
“As for making a statement? I’l leave that up to you make your mind up on,” he added before discussing the stoppage.
“The body punch was spot on. When he went to throw I timed it and hit the button spot on.”
