Niall Kennedy would answer Dave Allen call

Niall Kennedy [13(8)-2(2)-1] wouldn’t say no if he Matchroom were to call and offer him the chance to fight Dave Allen [18(15)-5(3)-2].

The Wexford heavy would be open to the fight, but isn’t anticipating an offer considering he was recently stopped by Alen Babic live on Sky Sports.

‘Boom Boom Baz’ name was raised as a potential replacement for Christian Hammer after the German was forced to pull out of a proposed October 31 Oleksandr Usyk-Derek Chisora undercard clash.

‘White Rhino’, who has since called out Lenroy Thomas, and Kennedy came close to fighting over the summer and were muted for a Fight Camp dust up.

The Gorey favourite did get his Matchroom and Sky chance against ‘The Savage’ Babic as Ocotber 4 and hinted at retirement post a stoppage win.

However, he has continued to train and remains open with regard to fights.

Indeed, he admits he would love the chance to fight Allen, although is aware others are more likely to get the call before him.

Considering Celtic Warrior Kennedy was stoppage last time out, a standard 28 ban would also make an Ocotber 31 fight date unlikely.

Tommy McCarthy will provide Irish interest on the PPV card as he takes on Bilal Laggoune for the European cruiserweight title.
