Niall Kennedy handles American step-up with ease [VIDEO]

Niall Kennedy was made to work for win number six last night in America.

Featuring prominently on the Murphys Boxing ‘Monster Brawl’ in Melsrose, the Wexford heavyweight outpointed Henry Namuauu over six rounds at the Memorial Hall.

The clash was at times scrappy but the cleaner work came from the Gorey big man throughout. While he was not delighted with his own performance, Kennedy was provided with the toughest test of his career so far and never looked in danger of losing.

After six tough rounds, Boom Boom Baz was awarded the win on the scorecards by a margin of 60:54 with all three judges.

The win sees Kennedy improve his record to 6(3)-0, while the game Namauu falls to 10(5)-9(5).

There will be no respite for Kennedy who will go straight back into training for another six rounder on the Red Corner ‘Inception’ show at the National Stadium on November 5th.
