New TV fight date for Stephen Ormond
Stephen Ormond will make his return to the ring next month.
The Clondalkin fighter will box on the Boxnation-televised October 1st show at the Bellahouston Leisure Centre in Glasgow, Scotland.
This event is MGM Scotland’s first card shown in collaboration with Boxnation and will also feature Dublin super featherweight Declan Geraghty [12(3)-1(0)] while the show will be headlined by an all-Alba clashes between Lee Redpath and Steven Beattie, and John Thain and Nathan Brough. More support comes from Stephen Simmons, David Brophy, Lewis Benson, Steven Tiffney, Matin Ilunga, and Jordan McCorry, as well as brothers Josh and Kallam Leather.
MGM Management described how “we are delighted to have acquired a TV slot for Stephen so quickly, he is a TV friendly boxer who will be enjoyed by the viewers at home and the Scottish public in attendance.”
MGM Scotland promoter Sam Kynoch added that “I’m pleased to have Stephen feature on the card. He has an exciting style and it’s one I’m sure the Scottish boxing fans will embrace.”
“October 1st is really shaping up to be a great evening for Scottish boxing.”
It will be Ormond’s first fight since missing weight for his IBF lightweight World title eliminator earlier this Summer and it is assumed that ‘The Rock’ will make the move up to light welterweight and restart a title charge from there.
