New opponents named for Belfast show this weekend
Two more opponents have been confirmed for the big bill in Belfast this Friday night.
Kieran Farrell returns to the The Devenish Complex on the Finaghy Road, with Belfast’s Padraig McCrory facing Cork-based South African Jade Karam for the Celtic Nations super middleweight title.
There is also a five fight undercard, and news of opponents continue to filter through.
There has been a change for Belfast lightweight Mark Morris [3(1)-1(1)]. The Glen Road man was originally due to face English journeyman Jamie Quinn [3(0)-45(1)-2].
However he will instead face Hungarian 22 year old Mark Szoros [4(3)-2(2)].
A former Hungarian Elite Senior champion and two-time runner-up, Szoros fought at the 2015 European Games and was a quarter finalist at the 2013 European Youths. Turning pro in 2016 he quickly racked up four wins before stoppage losses to Spanish champion Andoni Gago and Serbian champion Serif Gurdijeljac.
Morris returned from over two years of inactivity in April with a dominant win over Antonio Horvatic.
An opponent has also been confirmed for Waterford welterweight Dylan Moran [2(1)-0].
The Dungarvan fighter will face another Hungarian in Pal Olah [7(5)-12(4)-1].
The Magyar 22 year old fought in Dublin just last month, being outpointed over four by Dublin debutant Niall O’Connor.
For Moran the Irish homecoming will be a second fight in two weeks following his first round stoppage of Geiboord Omier in Manchester.
The card this Friday also features Alfredo Meli, Sean Creagh, and Jono Carroll. Mathew Fitzsimons is no longer listed to appear.
Tickets cost £25 (standing), £35 (seated), and £55 (ringside), and are available from the boxers involved.
