Nevin plans to be a World champion by 2016
JOHN Joe Nevin is ‘dreaming’ of becoming a World champion as early as 2016.
The Olympic silver medalist is looking to be busy over the next 12 months before targeting major pro honours in an Olympic Year.
“I can’t wait to get going again in 2015. I will have a few fights in the New Year and I’m just dreaming of becoming world champion in 2016,” he said.
Nevin’s progress in his debut year was halted by a double leg break inflicted in a horrific attack. The Mullingar shuffler says he has forgiven his attacker and has put the injury behind him.
“I’m just getting on with my life and I’ve forgiven the person who attacked me.
“It was difficult for me when I was in a wheelchair but the only thing I’m doing now is looking forward.“I’ve had great support these last eight months and don’t even think about what happened to me,” he told the Irish Sun.
