Murphy becomes Welterweight King of Queens-land

Paddy Murphy became the second Irish fighter to become king of Queensland in his chosen weight category.

The Australian based Newry native emulated Kildare’s super middleweight Dennis Hogan’s Queensland title success by claiming the welterweight version of the Australian State belt.

The former Sacred Heart fighter stopped Brett John Smith in round four of their title bout in Gambaro’s Restaurant and Function Centre, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia last night.
