Moving up in the World-Hogan improves ranking and secures USA defence date

DENNIS Hogan will make the first defence of his WBA NABA USA light middleweight title with a IBF World world #6 ranking.

Having taken Australia by storm, winning everything on offer Down Under, ‘The Hurricane’ has set his sights on making a name in America and further afield by winning a World title.

Hogan will fight for the third time Stateside when he makes the first defence of his WBA NABA title, which he won by beating knock out artist Tyrone Brunson last April, Niagara Falls, New York on June 26.

The 30 year old Kildare native defends against Kenny Abril (14-7) and starts camp on the back of being moved up to number 6 in the IBF rankings.

The next 12 months could be a massive year for Hogan, with the NABA title and the World rankings he qualifies to challenge for a World strap and if promoted right the fighter, who has been sparring Daniel Geale ahead of his clash with Miguel Cotto, could secure a shot at a World title.
