James Moore believes going back to the future will help him gatecrash the world stage when he takes on Pawel Wolak at Yankee Stadium on June 5.
Former World amateur bronze medalist Moore, 17-2 (10KO) goes into the bout as a betting underdog against Polish-American Wolak 26-1 (17KO), but the Irishman believes his preparation will help him spring a surprise.
I’ve been sparring with Kassim Ouma getting ready for this fight and the whole of Gleasons comes to a stop when it starts, the Wicklowman said.
Its the best sparring I’ve ever had in my life. Its just a war, head-to-head all the way. Kassim calls himself black Irish and tells everyone hes from Tallaght. Hes a really good guy.
Moore also said that he will complete his preparations alongside old friend John Duddy who fights Julio Cesar Chavez Junior on June 26.
I’m also going into camp for two weeks with John Duddy in the Poconos. I’ve been training for the last 12 weeks and have really ramped it up the last few weeks. Its an added bonus to have me da out here too, it feels good having the old team back together.
