More impressive Frampton v Gonzalez Jr TV figures released

< Carl Frampton proved a hit with British TV viewers at the weekend, pulling in a large audience for his IBF super bantamweight title defence against Mexico's Alejandro González Jr. The bout at the Don Haskins Centre in El Paso, Texas, pulled in a peak audience on ITV1 of 2.4million (18.5% audience share). The fight had an average viewership of 1.7million (11.3% audience share). Cyclone Promotions and 'The Jackal' will be delighted with these numbers which outstrip their ITV debut back in February. Frampton's fight with trash-talking American Chris Avalos drew a peak audience of 1.9million, averaging at 1.1million. These numbers come in addition to the 381,000 who watched on UTV, and the 935,000 households which tuned in stateside on CBS. UTV Ireland figures are due to be announced at the end of the month . In total, Frampton is on course to have been watched by around FIVE MILLION people across the four stations.
