Mick Conlan debut date confirmed

Top Rank chief Bob Arum has confirmed the debut date of Belfast star Mick Conlan.

The 24 year old joined up with the US giant on Monday and had a tentative debut broadly scheduled for St Patrick’s Weekend at Madison Square Garden in New York.

Tonight Arum confirmed that the 2015 World Amateur gold medalist will indeed make his pro bow at the famous venue on Friday March 17th 2017 – St Patrick’s Day.

Conlan will begin his paid career, where he aims to become a three-weight World champion, at super bantamweight.

Conlan will not be headlining the night, but will feature prominently on the card. Top Rank have stated their intention to fill the card with Irish stars, and double Olympic bronze medalist Paddy Barnes is already an early contender to feature.
