Michael McLaughlin to miss out on Monster Brawl

Donegal light middleweight Michael McLaughlin has been forced to sit out the Murphy’s Boxing Monster Brawl in Melrose on Friday night.

The southpaw has withdrawn from his all-lefty clash with Shakha Moore due to a troublesome arm injury

“The arm has prevented me from sparring I needed for the fight so I’ve been forced to pull out,” McLaughlin told Donegalnow.com. “I’m hoping to get back on track with a fight before Christmas to move me closer to challenging for titles in 2015.”

Fellow Irishman Stephen Ormond will co-headline the bill in Massachusetts.

31 year old McLaughlin [11(5)-1(0)-1] has recently spoke of his desire to fight for the Irish title and a return to these shores may be in the pipeline for 2016.
