A decorated young Irish boxer has been confirmed as one of the first sparring partners for Conor McGregor’s fight camp for the Floyd Mayweather mega event in two months time.

‘The Notorious’ makes his professional debut on August 26th against the five-weight boxing champion in Las Vegas, live on Showtime pay-per-view.

In preparation for the bout, Dubliner McGregor will initially spar with, among others, 20 year old Tyrone welterweight Tiernan Bradley.

The Sacred Heart Omagh fighter was a decorated underage boxer, and won a Commonwealth Youth silver and European Schoolboys bronze as well as six Irish titles.

Bradley confirmed that “contracts signed for the next two weeks. I will be one of his three sparring partners down here in Dublin!”

“Great opportunity to be apart of one of the biggest fight in combat sports history which should surpass all records!”

“I will give my all to make sure McGregor is at his best so we can really make history!”

The Ulsterman, older brother to the also talented Callum, was defeated in the semi finals of the National Elite Senior Championships in February by eventual winner Dean Walsh. He has recently spent time in England sparring with British light welterweight champion Tyrone Nurse.

McGregor will also spar with former Manny Pacquiao sparring partner Dashon Johnson [22(7)-21(3)-3], with the Californian confirming earlier that he is to fly to Ireland to join the camp.

The two-weight UFC champion sparred with Newry light heavy Conor Wallace ahead of the Nate Diaz rematch last Summer and has also sparred with the likes of Declan Geraghty and a number of boxers from the Celtic Warriors Gym over the years.
