McDonagh Looses Kenna Wins

Peter McDonagh was on the wrong end of a Razor thin 57-58 decision and suffered reverse number 21 on the under-card of Willie Limond v Anthony Crolla at Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility, Motherwell last Friday night.

The London based Galway fighter took on Edinburgh welterweight Gary McMillan, who entered the ring on the back of a close ten round lose to Kevin McIntyre, but couldn’t inflicted success losses on the home fighter.

McMillan started the contest strong, but the ‘Connemara Kid’ found his rhythm in the fourth and fifth and could have pinched the fight with a strong last round.

McMillan however dug deep and just snatched the fight with a strong performance in the final stanza.

Meanwhile Dublin heavyweight Colin Kenna recorded an impressive victory on the Big Top Bloomsbury show in London recently. The brother of former Irish international footballer Jeff Kenna inflicted a first defeat on prospect Ian Lewison.
