McCullough looking to get back in the fast lane with Slowey win

Marc McCullough will box Scottish Featherweight Champion and recent EU (EBU) title challenger Jon Slowey in the co-feature of the massive ALL ON THE LINE show on Friday, November 20 at the Waterfront Hall in Belfast.

This huge evening of boxing includes the tantalising Celtic Middleweight title clash between local undefeated prospects Conrad Cummings and Alfredo Meli.

McCullough vs Slowey is scheduled for ten-rounds at the Featherweight limit and is a crunch contest for both combatants, with both desperately needing to reestablish themselves as serious title contenders following recent setbacks. The winner of this bout can look forward to challenging for titles in a division that is now wide open at domestic level and featuring a new British Champion in Norfolk’s Ryan Walsh.

Former Irish and WBO European Featherweight champion McCullough, 12 – 2, is set to box next Friday in Edinburgh on the big home debut show for Commonwealth Games gold medalist Josh Taylor. McCullough will be looking to get back to winning ways on October 16 following a shock loss in July. A win for the popular Shankill Road stylist will set him up perfectly for his homecoming on November 20 at the Waterfront Hall against Glasgow’s Slowey.

Former WBC International Silver Champion and current Scottish Featherweight Champion Slowey, 19 – 2, recently travelled to Italy to challenge Carmine Tommasone for the vacant EU (EBU) Featherweight title. Slowey boxed well but ultimately came up short against the Italian in Caivano, Italy, and is determined to prove that he still has what it takes to win major domestic honours.
