McCrory Starts Professional Career in Quickfire Fashion

Lightweight debutant, Fergal McCrory got off to the perfect start to his professional career, stopping Hungarian import Zsolt Schmidt (2-5) after just 62 seconds of the first round.

The former European Schoolboys Bronze medalist, trained by John Breen, bullied his opponent from the off with his southpaw stance.

Whilst Schmidt was holding McCrory’s right arm, McCrory’s left was continuingly hitting the target on both the body and head.

Once 23 year old McCrory freed his right arm, a quick attack to the body forced Schmidt to the ropes and crumble to his knees. Schmidt already had enough as referee John Lowey counted the full 10.

Much tougher tests await the Tyrone fighter after what was a very soft match-up.
