McCloskey Prescott broadcast in USA

Paul McCloskey will get the chance to add some American based boxing fans to his already renowned support.

The Derry fighter could go on a US Dudey Army recruitment drive as his mega clash with Breidis Prescott is aired on ESPN across the States.

U.S.-based boxing fans can watch the Breidis Prescott-Paul McCloskey 12-round WBA light welterweight elimination

match at Belfast, Northern Ireland’s Odyssey Arena, Saturday, Sept. 10, at 3:45 p.m. ET on ESPN3, accessible online at WatchESPN.com, on smartphones and tablets via the WatchESPN app and through ESPN on Xbox LIVE.

The bout will feature the classic boxer/puncher match-up as Colombia’s Prescott (24-2, 19 KOs), is an offensive force with power in both hands and Ireland’s McCloskey (22-1, 12 KOs) is a classic boxer with excellent technique.

Looking ahead, both fighters say they will be looking to use the other as a stepping stone back into the ring with WBA “Super” Champion Amir Khan. Prescott dealt Khan his only loss in 2008 via knockout and McCloskey dropped an abbreviated six-round decision to Khan last April.
