McCloskey not looking past Morrison
2 October 2010 – Jonny Stapleton
Paul McCloskey admits he can see a World title shot on the horizon, but is adamant his gaze is firmly set on his immediate future and tonights European welterweight title defence against Barry Morrison.
McCloskey, who is ranked No. 4 with the WBC and has been actively perusing WBA champ Amir Khan, believes he is just two or three victories away from fighting for one of boxing’s biggest crowns.
The Dungiven stylist will watch with interest Devon Alexander and Tim Bradleys WBC, IBF and WBO unification fight in January as it will give him a clearer picture of his title fate in one of most keenly contested division around.
However, despite being confident he is on course to challenge at the top, the undefeated Derry fighter claims that his focus is on the job at hand.
The continental champion is determined to the business against the fighter known as The Bizness in his second European title defence in Letterkenny tonight.
