McCarthy registers another impressive stoppage win
ONE big punch can decide any cruiserweight fight suggested Tommy McCarthy pre his Dublin debut and it certainly proved the case at the 3Arena last night.
The big Belfast puncher landed a big left hook on the chin of Martin Horak in the second round of just his fourth pro fight and their was no way back for the durable journey man.
Once he saw Horak’s legs shake McCarthy pounced and the brave referee was forced to jump across the big man in full flow and call a halt to the bout.
The stoppage which came 59 seconds into round 2 was McCarthy’s fourth in four fights and came against an opponent was only stopped once previous.
The victory proves the former stand out amateur is above novice pro level and is ready to pushed toward domestic level in 2015.
