Mayo Boxer to make Comeback for Ray Moylette Homecoming – Teams up with Ken Egan

Ray Moylette won’t be the only Mayo man in action in Castlebar on Friday November 7th.

The Islandeady lightweight headlines a homecoming card at the Royal Theatre next month where he boxes Mexican Christian Uruzquieta for the vacant WBC International title.

Today it has been confirmed that Ballaghaderreen light welter Ollie Towey [1(0)-2(2)] will make his comeback on the big bill.

A well-travelled fighter, Towey has been all over the world in recent years, fighting when and where he can, with amateur fights in the UK and Australia as well as three appearances Down Under. Additionally the Connacht man has had some time spent at the Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles as well as a training with the legendary James Toney.

Now back living in Ireland, the 36-year-old has linked up with Olympic silver medallist Kenneth Egan who will train and corner him for his comeback fight – his first in over two years.

Egan, during the summer, was in the corner of former team-mate Eric Donovan for the Kildare feather’s fight on ‘Celtic Clash 6’.

“I’m training hard and following expert advice from Kenneth Egan. No stone left unturned for this one,” said Towey who is listed to face solid Croatian journeyman Antonio Horvatic over four rounds on the bill.

The show in Mayo is topped by Moylette and, alongside Towey, features Spike O’Sullivan, Luis Garcia, Victor Rabei, Dylan Moran, Niall O’Connor, Paddy Nevin, Owen Duffy, Johnny Corcoran, debutants Aaron Gethins and Ruadhan Farrell, and a clash between Graham McCormack and Jade Karam.
