A massive step up is being planned for Clonmel heavyweight Con Sheehan [3(1)-0] on next weekend’s Belfast show at the Titanic Exhibition Center.

Dave ‘The White Rhino’ Allen has been contacted regarding a fight on Saturday November 5th, although no offer has been accepted yet and the 24 year old notes how he has also received an offer to fight in Canada.

The Doncaster puncher [9(6)-1(0)-1] last featured on the Matchroom show in Leeds headlined by Josh Warrington v Pajo Hyland, where he was outpointed over ten rounds by Dillian Whyte.

Allen would be a huge step up for Tipperary’s Sheehan in just his fourth fight and someone who would most likely drag Con The Bomb into the later rounds.

Trainer Peter Fury had previously said that Sheehan would fight for the Irish title on the Boxnation-broadcast bill. Allen’s link to Ireland is currently unconfirmed, and the Boxing Union Ireland have confirmed that they are yet to be contacted regarding the sanctioning of a fight for the belt last held by Tyson Fury.

Regardless of a title being on the line, the choice of Allen as an opponent would be a real statement of intent and a genuine test for the 27 year old.
