Martinez Gunning for Frampton

Kiko Martinez will come gunning for Carl Framtpon if he successfully defends his title against Arsen Martirosyan in Lyon on March 9.

The Spaniard with significant Irish previous is once again working with Pat Magee, manager of Brian Magee, and is looking for a big fight with The Jackal in 2012.

Having seen a European title fight with the fighter that had Bernard Dunne gone within a round fall through in September due to a Martinez withdrawal Frampton may take the latest revelation with a pinch of salt.

Magee, however is confident he can broker a deal.

“Kiko has a defence pencilled in for March 9. Once that is dealt with successfully we will be looking for Carl and I know he is looking for Kiko.”
