Mark Dunlop: James Fryers can be a World Champion

Promoter Mark Dunlop believes that super featherweight hotshot James Fryers [9(3)-0] can go all the way. The 22 year old Belfast prospect fights on the Dunlop-ran dinner show at the Europa Hotel, taking on tough Englishman Barrington Brown [6(2)-13(2)-3].

The unbeaten prospect currently is poised at #10 in the British rankings and a win over his Nottingham opponent will help the youngster jump into title contention.

However, Belfast’s small-hall king predicts an even bigger future for ‘The Future,’ and told the Irish News that he is “a world champion in the making.”

Fryers is currently training for the October 17th date with James Tennyson, Joe Fitzpatrick, and Paul Hyland Jnr, who all also are scheduled to appear on the show – and his performances in preparation have Dunlop purring, who notes that “he has everything, he just needs a wee bit of luck because people would pay to watch the spars between him Tennyson, Fitzpatrick and Paul Hyland Jnr.”
