Manchester City sign youngster from amateur Waterford side
Premier League powerhouse Manchester City have signed a young defender from an amateur Waterford side.
Under-16 Irish cap Timi Sobowale has signed for the Manchester club from Waterford schoolboy side Villa FC.
The talented player was on the radar of a number of clubs across the water and did wear the white of Spurs in an under 16s side back in 2016, but has now signed for Man City.
The Dundalk born player, who has lived in Dublin and Waterford, goes straight into City’s talented Under 18 squad ahead of the new season.
Football runs in the family and Sobowale is a younger brother of Finn Harps front man Oluwatunmise Sobowale.
