Mack The Knife Global sign Irish Champion
Mack The Knife Global have this morning confirmed that they have signed Irish middleweight champion Luke Keeler [13(5)-2(1)] on a management basis.
The Dubliner is the latest to link up with Matthew Macklin’s outfit, joining Carl Frampton and Conrad Cummings in recent weeks along with almost 30 other Irish fighters who are on the books with MTK.
The Ballyfermot man is currently out injured – having elected to undergo surgery to repair a long-standing shoulder problem whilst recovering from a hand injury sustained in his title win over Darren Cruise in June.
MTK Global commented how “Luke is an excellent addition to the MTK Global stable. He recently picked up the Irish title and we believe that is just the beginning. The opportunity to focus full-time on the sport will have a significant impact on his career and MTK Global look forward to this exciting new period in his career.”
The signing means that now MTK are in charge of the careers of middleweights Keeler, Cummings, and Belfast’s Alfredo Meli.
The outfit have shown a willingness to pit their fighters against each other with Jono Carroll v Johnny Quigley, Paddy Gallagher v Gary Murray, and the upcoming Carroll v Declan Geraghty rematch being examples.
It is hoped now that there will be some big domestic middleweight scraps on the horizon.
