Luke Keeler to face former English champ in Dublin headline fight

Luke Keeler [11(5)-2(1)] will headline this month’s ‘Unfinished Business’ card against strong English opposition.

The Ballyfermot middeweight tops the Red Corner Promotions bill on Saturday February 25th, where he will look to move into European title contention. Keeler’s opponent at the National Stadium will be Lewis Taylor [19(3)-2(0)-1] and he will box the Englishman in an eight round contest.

Taylor, ranked #12 by the EBU, is a former English champion and last year unsuccessfully challenged for Tommy Langford’s Commonwealth belt.

The 27 year old Derbyshire workhorse also has Irish previous, having lost a hugely competitive fight to Eamonn O’Kane back in 2015.

The current holder of the blue belt is Italian Emanuele Felice Blandamura [26(5)-2(2)].

The news was announced this afternoon at the ‘Unfinished Business’ press conference.

It is a second successive headline slot for the Dubliner, who also topped the Red Corner ‘Inception’ show in November, widely outpointing Welshman Bradley Pryce over eight rounds.

Also set to feature on the card are Eric Donovan, Steve Collins Jr, Lynn Harvey, Noely Murphy, Allan Phelan, Connor Coyle, Jay Byrne, Chris Blaney, and debutant Thomas Finnegan.
