Luke Keeler set to join Jono Carroll on Matchroom books

LUKE Keeler’s Valentines Day heart ache wasn’t long lived.

Not long after the ‘Cool Hand’s’ fractured hand had played a major part in him exiting Prizefighter to the eventual winner in a close semi final he got news of a potential Matchroom contract.

Despite failing to lift the Prizefighter trophy, Keeler again managed to catch the eye of Matchroom boss, Eddie Hearn, who took a shine to him after seeing him stop Gary Boulden in a round last Novemeber, and according to trainer and manger Pascal Collins Keeler will join Jono Carroll on Matchrooms books.

“The good news is Luke Keeler is going to be a Matchroom fighter too,” Collins told Irish-boxing.com

“I have already discussed it with them and we are going to sit and work something out for Luke. They did say Luke was the most outstanding fighter on the night, they like him,” he added before reflecting on Prizefigther.

“The one fight I would love is the rematch with the guy that won it, but it won’t happen. He is the Prizefighter champion he doesn’t need to fight Luke and he knows Luke would beat him with two hands.

Luke showed he has a lot of heart and that he wants it going into a hand with a fractured hand, which he thought was broken. That’s a win in my eyes.
