Luke Keeler happy to get the rounds in after extended spell out

Dublin middleweight Luke Keeler boxed for the first time in almost eight months at the weekend, and the 28 year old returned from injury with a comprehensive points win over tough Englishman Jason Ball.

The fight was Keeler’s debut under the banner of Matchroom Promotion and ‘Cool Hand Luke’ will be delighted with his performance after an extended spell on the sidelines.

After the bout, the Ballyfermot boxer spoke to prolific YouTube channel iFilm London TV about his successful ring return.

Keeler admitted that “I was happy to get the six rounds.”

“I was told to box this time, not to load up, and that’s what happened and I got the six rounds in.”

On his the injury to his hand, fans will be happy to hear that there was no re-occurrence on Saturday night, with Keller revealing that “I came out of that fight and there was no issue which is a big plus, and I’ve been sparring with it and it’s no problem – once it’s wrapped up it’s good.”
