Luke Campbell OFF Frampton-Quigg undercard

The undercard of Carl Frampton and Scott Quigg’s showdown has taken a hit with news that Luke Campbell will no longer be appearing at the Manchester Arena on February 27th.

Campbell, who won 2012 Olympic gold after defeating Ireland’s John Joe Nevin in the final, lost for the first time in his pro career back in December against former Carl Frampton sparring partner Yvan Mendy.

In recent weeks, Campbell has relocated to Miami and has teamed up with Guillermo Rigondeaux’s trainer Jorge Rubio.

It was Matchroom’s intention to have the lightweight return in a big fight, however the Hull star will now be appearing on the undercard of Kell Brook’s IBF welterweight title defence against Kevin Bizier in Sheffield on March 26th.

With the Englishman’s withdrawal, the card now reads:
– Carl Frampton v Scott Quigg (IBF & WBA super bantamweight titles)
– Marco McCullough v Isaac Lowe (Commonwealth featherweight title)
– Luke Wilton v Charlie Edwards (British flyweight final eliminator)
– Ryan Burnett
– Josh Taylor
– Scott Fitzgerald
– Marcus Morrison
– Hosea Burton
– PLUS two Cyclone Promotions fighters to-be-announced.
