The ten-man Irish under-22s side will compete in the European Championships next week in Romania are currently in training in Dublin.
Before they headed off, we spoke to middleweight representative and reigning Irish under-22 champion Kelyn Cassidy to give us the lowdown on the squad.
Q: Hardest Trainer?
A: Jordan Moore always trains hard in ever session and never complains.
Q: Biggest Moaner?
A: It’s a hard one to call, but by the sounds of things it’s coming across as myself according to the boys.
Q: Funniest?
A: Funniest has to be Geoff Kavanagh. Anything that comes out of he mouth you’re bound to laugh at. Keith Flavin is in there too, he has his moments.
Q: Biggest Ladies’ Man?
A: Darryl Moran, he says that “I’m that good at pulling women that I come to camp for a break.”
Q: Most Intelligent?
A: Most intelligent without a doubt is Dylan Duffy.
Q: Least Intelligent?
A: That’s a tough one as no one has slipped up yet!
Q: Hardest Puncher?
A: Brian Kennedy, but I’m not too sure if it’s punching power or the bad mitts he uses sparring.
Q: Most Naturally Talented?
A: James McGivern and Kurt Walker.
Q: Cheapest?
A: Brian Kennedy. It’s a good job he’s a boxer because he has the tightes fist I’ve ever seen
Q: Worst Dancer?
A: It’s not a case of worst dancer, it’s a case of who’s the worst at shadow boxing because that’s what it looks like!
Q: Worst Dress Sense?
A: Keith Flavin. The fella is like a pick and mix when it comes to clothing, he grabs whatever.
Q: Biggest Messer?
A: Biggest messer also has to be Keith Flavin, he’s always up to something.
