Lots of new fight dates for Irish boxers


It was been a mental week with Ryan Burnett unifying world titles in Belfast on Saturday night.

Between press conferences, weigh-ins, interviews and the like, there were a number of Irish boxers who received news of new fights which went under the radar. Below Irish-Boxing.com goes through all the new dates that were recently announced.

Dublin welter Jay Byrne [5(1)-3(1)] will return from his stoppage loss to Anthony Fowler last month with an appearance on an MTK Scotland dinner show. The Loughlinstown fighter on the ‘Boxing Dinner Club’ card at the Crowne Plaza in Glasgow on Friday November 3rd.

Irish light middleweight champion Pauly Upton [14(3)-0] will have his third fight of the year on an MTK London show on Saturday December 2nd at the Brentwood Centre in Essex. The show will be streamed live via IFL TV and Upton will compete in a six rounder.

Following three fight dates falling through this month, Waterford welterweight Dylan Moran [2(1)-0] will finally fight for the third time on Sunday December 3rd. The Kieran Farrell fighter will feature on a Neil Marsh afternoon dinner show at the Hilton Hotel in Blackpool.

Two-time Irish title challenger Darren Cruise [7(1)-6(0)] will have a busy start to his association with Assassin Boxing and the Roscommon middleweight will fight twice before the end of the year. First up on Saturday November 25th he will fight on a Siesta Promotions bill at the Mountbatten Centre in Portsmouth. Then, on Saturday November 16th, Cruise will feature on a Murphys Boxing bill in Boston.
