London goes Greener – ANOTHER fighter added to Irish Invasion bill
The big Irish-themed card in London next month has had the addition of another fighter from these shores confirmed.
The Hellraiser Boxing show at the York Hall on Saturday June 22nd has been dubbed ‘The Irish Invasion’ and tonight an eighth Irish boxer has been added to the bill.
Waterford welterweight Rohan Daté will box for the tenth time as a pro at the Bethnal Green venue.
Daté [8(6)-0-1] confirmed the fight slot on social media tonight, his second outing of the year.
The Déise power-puncher was in action at the start of the month on a Badou Jack-promoted card in Dubai where he scored a first-round knockout of Thai Wanphichit Siriphana.
With five six-rounders in the bag, Daté will be keen to move into title contention soon.
The St Paul’s graduate joins seven of his countrymen on the card at the historic venue.
Irish featherweight and light middleweight champions Eric Donovan [9(5)-0] and Craig O’Brien [10(1)-1(1)] are both also slated to appear alongside BUI Celtic light welterweight champion Victor Rabei [7(2)-0].
Then there is light middleweights Owen Duffy [4(2)-1(0] and Cillian Reardon [5(0)-0], Kerry light heavyweight prospect Kevin Cronin [1(0)-0], and Daté’s fellow Waterford fighter Craig McCarthy [6(1)-0].
More Irish fighters may still be added to the card in just over five weeks time.
